We at James Island Charter High School are looking forward with anticipation to having your child with us. While we know it will be a big transition for you and for them, we want to offer an opportunity to join an organization, which will provide an all important support group in their new environment. Air Force JROTC is an elective class and can count as a physical fitness unit.
***This is NOT a military recruitment class and there is no military service obligation for taking this course.***
We are in the school to teach citizenship, dependability, responsibility and patriotism. Additionally, we instruct your students in the History of Aviation, Science of Flight, Space Exploration, Leadership, Drill and Ceremonies. The program is far reaching and many of our cadets find a home with us for the four years of high school.
Taking two or three years (military branch dependent) of Air Force JROTC does provide advance rank and benefits for those who do enlist into any service branch after graduation from high school.
